FAQs
Q: If I get tuckered out, will someone come and get me?
No. Have a back-up plan. Self-sufficiency is the rule.
Q: How's the cell phone service?
Not great but improving.
Q: How do I navigate?
The routes will be marked with arrows. Maps, cue sheets, and GPX files are also available. Do not rely on any one form of navigation. Have a back-up plan. Carrying a compass and knowing how to use it is never a bad idea.
Q: Are there water stops?
Yes, water stop locations will be marked on your map and on the GPX files.
Q: What about food/snacks?
Plan to bring whatever you want to eat. The 113-mile route will pass by a convenience store at mile 49. Bring cash/card.
Q: Are there bears in the area?
Yes, black bears. Typically, they avoid humans. Loud noises tend to scare them away. Don't try to get close for a picture or feed them your Embark Maple snacks. Avoid getting between a bear and her cubs.

If you're going to race, race fairly.
